Talk to me about fabric glue

I've never used it.

I am making lamp shades (recovering, actually) and I am putting bias fabric down the "spines" (it is a bell shaped shade).  I figured hot glue may not be as nice as fabric glue; I guess it is smoother?

So, tell me what kind you use, and does it adhere well, without coming undone?

ETA: Also tell me where you get it.  I have ACMoore and Walmart really close; Joann's is about 8 miles away.

  • I have used fabric glue a few times but I think for a project like that I would go for hot glue.

  • I used spray adhesive when I covered my lampshade.

  • The best Fabric Glue that I have ever used is  'Unique Stitch'. It is fast drying(not instant),washable and dries clear. I have only bought it at Hancock Fabrics. I never saw it at AC Moore. But maybe Joann's or Walmart have it.  A clerk at Hancock fabrics told me about it and I have been using it for 3+ years. It works on all types of fabrics.   Good Luck !
