Does Disney World have group rate packages?

We're planning on going in November 2017 and figure on having around 20 people. I tried googling and couldn't find much for group rates.

Re: Does Disney World have group rate packages?

  • I have no experience with this, but I did a quick Google search and came up with this -  http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/disney-group-rates/.  According to that, groups with 10 or more rooms can get certain benefits.

Even without a group rate you might want to contact them.  They can help you plan table service meals, etc. since booking for that number of people through the regular system will likely be a problem.  I don't think the normal reservations line can accommodate 20 people in one reservation, and breaking up your party means you may not be seated together.

  • They do do group rates, but it is based on how many rooms you are going to need.  Something tells me with 20 people that it won't be enough rooms/room nights.  They handle most of these through convention services.  There are smaller "group" options if you are having a wedding there or know of someone having a wedding.  Then you will receive a discount on the hotel rooms as well as tickets.  Your best bet is going to wait it out for some special when you want to go.  If you are planning on going over Thanksgiving though, don't count on any major discounts.
  • Disney has special offerings (called Grand Gatherings) for groups of 8 or more. To get a group/convention rate you've got to have quite a few more people, OR a meeting booked at one of their convention centers.

If you're looking to save money, and you're traveling with family, you might want to look into renting vacation club points and splitting the cost of a 2 bedroom or a villa.

  • Everyone else pretty much covered it. You need a decent amount more people to get a group rate. 20 isn't that large of a group by Disney standards. You can fit 5 people in some of the rooms so that's only 4 rooms. Not really discount worthy.

allears.net has some info on Grand Gatherings. The only thing really special about them is that there is a specific number to call to book reservations for that large of a number and they have a few special dinners/experiences you can book if you are a Grand Gathering (8+ people).
