What are your favorite winter carnival activities?
Re: Winter Carnival
I've only done the parades and the Queen of the Snows coronation. I would recommend all 3, but the coronation isn't free. The parades are a lot of fun, especially if it's not bitter cold.

Me too!
Unfortunately, I forgot to register my button this year, so even if I find the medallion, I'll only get half the prize.

I was an avid hunter back when I was still living in the cities. We were going to come down this weekend for the hunt, but it didn't work out.
I miss it so much. We were there the year it was found at Phalen. It was the middle of the night but the whole little valley where it was supposed to be hidden was lit up like it was the middle of the day with people digging everywhere. I still get a little giddy when I think about it! Have fun hunting!!

Ah, 2004. I was there too. We gave up around 3 a.m. Craziness! That was the year the medallion was supposed to be hidden in a doughnut, but was found in a different location than it was supposed to be, and without the doughnut. I guess they learned their lesson not to hide it in food ... too tempting for the wildlife in the park. :-)

Yes, yes, that was the year! And then someone just randomly found it the next morning! grr...
