I may be hitting the "adjustment suuucks" stumbling block, even though I had hoped the honeymoon period would last longer than 3 weeks. DH made dinner tonight while I skyped with the grandparents with DD for TWO hours (exhausting). When I got off the computer, I found out DH had used dried thyme instead of the fresh thyme I ran to several market stalls yesterday to find and went to great lenghts to make myself understood when vendor after vendor didn't understand my pronunciation of the one-syllable THYM (tom? tim? tam? I couldn't get it right). Despite the fact that I told DH this story last night over dinner, he had zero recollection of my market adventure with fresh thyme yesterday.
So I cried. Then I ate the extraordinary dinner he made. Sigh. I'm just tired, right?

We live in my home country and I have a constant battle to remind DH to use the fresh spices I've bought vs. the dried.

I don't know that I'd write it off to "adjustment to a foreign land". My H would have said "I didn't know you wanted to use the fresh thyme for this recipe" pfft.
