You mentioned you're going to Canberra. Is it a worthy travel destination? I saw some reasonably priced flights over a long weekend so was considering it.
Thoughts? Maybe this is best answered after you've been there.
ETA: Changed subject because I have low reading comprehension skills.
Re: **dorothyInAus**
Nope. I was looking into Brisbane.
I think Canberra is on H's list of places to keep me from because he knows I'll never come back here. And it looks like Brisbane has made that list too.
I think it was Dorothy that is planning on going.
I've been. It's worth it to see the Australian War Memorial. Which is just beautiful. I toured the old parliament house too. That was about all the city related stuff I did. We went to the top of one of the mountains too to watch the sunset. The other day was spent on a sheep farm and playing Aussie Rules Football.

All people living in Australia look the same to me. But don't worry, I have lots of them as friends though.
Will edit the original title to get dorothyInAus in here instead.
Sorry, aMrs. What about your concert? Isn't that in Bris?
I am going to Canberra for a long weekend in mid-March to see a friend of mine who is there. DH is really keen to see the new Parliament House and so am I, if I'm honest. For other things, we'll ask her what's a must see when we get there. I am sure the War Memorial will be on the list.
Really, the trip is more a visit to my friend before she moves back to the US than a touristy trip, but I'll give you a report when I get back.
Canberra is a great place to visit. The war memorial, the new and old parliment houses, reconciliation place, blundell's cottage, the national gallery of Australia (if only to see the indigenous art), a walk around Lake Burley Griffin and the National portrait gallery.
I would also go and have a chat to the people living at the tent embassy across the road from Parliment House. It will give you the opportunity to hear the concerns and history directly from Indigenous Australians.
If you are up for a drive there are some great wineries nearby and also some great national parks.
