Caribbean "foodie" islands?
DH and I want to take a vacation this March to a caribbean island. Because we will be close to 5 months pregnant, we won't be doing a lot of strenuous activities but would love to find an island with great food. Any suggestions? Double points if you can also recommend a non-AI resort with nice beach/pool area. TIA!

St. Barth
Stay at Isle de France.

St. Maarten, hands down. Check out the Westin at Dawn Beach or the Radisson/Wyndham, it's in a super secluded area and has a private beach that's phenomenal. There are also some great condos right across the street from the Westin: http://www.vrbo.com/280422.
If you go to St. Maarten try to stay on the French side, I think it's far better than the Dutch side. The Westin is right at the boarder but Dawn Beach makes it totally worthwhile. You can also do day trips to other islands from St. Maarten.
Grand Case has some of the best restaurants and a lot of the places honor one dollar as one euro, which is a good trade off. One other tip, the Dutch side takes dollars but most places on the French side would only take euros.
I could be wrong, but I think Barbadoes is the only Caribbean island that has a Zagats guide. There is some great food there!
Check out The Fairmont or the Crane for places to stay.
I'd add Anguilla to the list.
We stayed at the Cuisinart and really liked it. Their veggies come from an on-property hydroponic farm that you can tour, if you want to add a foodie activity to your trip: http://www.cuisinartresort.com/view.php?catID=25&pID=91
Totally agree. SXM hands down. St. Barth's has good food, but there are way more options in SXM. You can take an hour long boat ride to St. Barth's from SXM if you want to check it out.
