I *just* got to watch this episode. I read through the comments on the original thread for this week, and I thought I'd add my own if anyone cares.
I feel torn about Michael's. I can see the beauty in it, but I can see the cons everyone point out too. It's one of those things where originally I think it looks great but when people start saying things like it looks like a VS robe, yeah, I could definitely see that!
Did anyone notice that they called Kara's chocolate & cayenne piece too literal but that's the same reason why they liked Mondo's cantaloupe so much? Bunch o'hypocrites. And I felt bad for Kara---they decided they didn't like it, and said something to the effect of "well she picked that flavor" when really she didn't. She just got stuck with the last pick!
I thought Anthony's green tea interpretation was good, but they didn't like it and I was surprised. I thought Austin's was safe, and I kind of got the idea Jerell was going for but I thought all the straps were scary. Rami's kiwi was ok and the black dots were genius.
I was annoyed that Mila was so proud of herself for "working with color" like she was expecting praise for it, when really....are you a designer or not? Why do you think working with color is going out on a limb? You should not be proud that using anything but black and white in your designs is out of the box for you.
Finally April is gone! I'm actually surprised she got the boot and Kara didn't for the maternity-wear. I would've liked to see April get one of the bright, bright flavors instead of blueberry, but at least I won't be bugged by her voice, designs, colors (or lack thereof), and gray hair anymore.
I get to gossip with my older sis about this today. PR is about the only thing she and I ever talk to each other about!
Re: PR 1/26 comment
I watched it late also.
I love Michael but did not love his dress. It definitely looked like a very fancy and pretty.... robe!
I really thought Kara should have left over April in consideration of both their dresses for this particular challenge.
Overall, I really loved this episode and the theme. I heart Mondo.
