broadband wireless?

hey all - we're traveling to Australia in March and I'm wondering if there are any broadband wireless options? Is there any cards you can subscribe to that are international?

Re: broadband wireless?

  • I would think that you could find a pre paid usb wireless broadband key through a major network there.

I am not sure but I would suspect that an international key card would be expensive with roaming fees but maybe someone knows something I don't and they can give you a better idea.

Take a look at Telstra via the link below.  They are a major network in Oz and I think they might have exactly what you are looking for and you could find a local office where you are going and just pick one up.

  • I'm not sure what the cost of this will be for you, but it might very well be worth it.  We were shocked at the price of internet in some of our hotels.  However, I have to say that it seems like the trend might be changing a bit because our last two hotels in Adelaide and Sydney offered free wi-fi which was a huge plus.  I think it was $25 a day at our first stop.  I bought a kindle keypad with free 3g to do basic internet stuff like email and it worked everywhere we went surprisingly well.
