Top Five
What are your top 5 family hangouts in the area? We go a lot of places, but are always looking for more, so I'm hoping to find some new ideas:
1. Longwood Gardens - in Kennett PA, this place is beautiful, especially in the sping and summer. Great for the kids. Very cool treehouses and lots to see and do.

2. Grounds For Sculpture - Hamilton NJ. Another great outdoor space if you are an art lover. Fantastic sculptures and lots for kids to explore.

3. Atsion Lake - Great alternative to treking out to the shore. Also the calm lake water is less threatening to little ones.

4. StoryBook Land - Egg Harbor Township, NJ. I am not crazy about the admission price, but this is still a super cute place for little ones.
5. Historic Smithville Park - Easthampton, NJ. Great walking trails, a flosting walkway and an awesome playground!

We don't do much in the winter months the holidays and birthdays, so we mostly only go places when it's warm in the Spring & Summer.
1) Sesame Place (we buy the Season Pass) in the summer. Although, this year we will probably skip it and buy season passes to Clementon Park instead since the girls are getting older. We went to Clementon Park last summer and even though the other visitors are a little trashy (which happens at Sesame Place, too -- even though it's twice the price!) the girls like the water park area much better. I also like that it's much closer & cheaper.
2) The Franklin Institute
3) Ocean City
4) The Philadelphia Zoo or Cape May Zoo (it's a trade off -- super close & $$ or a long drive and free)

Our older girls love rides so I'm really looking forward to when we can take them to 6 Flags & Hershey Park. Right now it's not worth the expensive ticket prices since they are very limited in what they can ride.

I live 20 minutes from Sesame Place and have never taken the kids there. Aiden (4yo) was never big into Sesame and honestly, when I've gone to the mall there I see the people going in and out of the park and I've seen some of the trashy visitors so that's deterred me a bit, but the price is what mostly deters me. I'm thinking I should take the kids there at least once though. My husband wants to check out Clementon Park. I'm just not a big waterpark person though...

I literally live down the hill from Clementon Park. It has a similar clientele to Sesame Place. It's not just a water park though...there are rides for kids and adults. It's not terrible though...the prices are reasonable IMO and local.
