I was in the hospital for 5 hours this morning with my midwife and 2 breast specialists.  My mastitis is turning into MRSA and I have a lot of cysts. I have. Een given 24 hours to get 4 doses of a new antibiotic into my body and if I'm not better by then, I get to go to the ER and have the cysts (which are on the verge to become abcessed) drained. My breast is three times it's size and bright red.

We are sitting in the ER waiting for b's GI doctor. She lost another 1.5 oz today and our pedi is pretty concerned. It looks like we may be at the children's hospital for the weekend at least. My mom got a one way ticket out for tomorrow am so we will have someone with A all the time instead of asking our friends to do it!

    Oh my goodness, that sounds so horrible to be going through!! Have you been admitted or are they letting you go home? You will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery, and hopefully no draining will be necessary. I've had a breast cyst before, and it was painful without dealing with breastfeeding issues! I hope you get better quickly.

    Either of those things on their own are bad, but together is 10 times worse.  I'm hoping for a speedy recovery for you and that B starts to gain or they can figure out what is going on with her.  T&P's your way.

    Thanks everyone! A little update, it looks like we are here through the weekend. B had a CBC, chest X-ray and stool sample done tonight. Tomorrow will bring more tests and maybe a few answers.... We are having to feed 1oz pumped milk after each nursing session, which since my supply tanked today with the onslaught of MRSA, will also be mixed with hypoallergenic formula (all my pumped bm is from before I went on an mspi diet-I wasn't storing this week due to thrush). Hoping we can get some answers, put some weight on her and be home early this week!
