  • We had people over friday and saturday. Between the 2, I made 2.5 trays of baked ziti. We still have a 1/2 tray left, some sausage and peppers, garlic bread, plus beef stew from last week.  I think I'm good to go for a few days.

Also, SOMEONE left a tray of butter cokies at our house and I think my husband is going to eat the whole thing this week.

  • Gosh, I really need to start cooking again.  Because of my m/s, all things cooking smell so horrible.  I just started wearing seabands to combat this, and so far so good.  Anywho, I may try to cook tomorrow night and see how it goes.

Any suggestions on something kinda bland-smelling that I can cook?  I have been eating a lot of pasta with butter/parm or cereal for dinner lately - I can't think of anything that wouldn't have a strong smell while cooking, unless I eliminate flavor too.  I can handle pretty much all food taste-wise, as long as I don't have to smell it cooking.  My poor DH has eaten a lot of wawa, panera and turkey burgers over the past couple of weeks since his cooking skills are pretty blah.

  • Last night we did sausage and peppers/onions in the crockpot.

Tonight: spaghetti bolognase in crockpot (I also added a bag of spinach, carrots, mushrooms).

    This week we have:

    pierogies
    homemade pizza
    black bean quesadillas
chicken and asparagus (maybe over penne pasta or orzo)

What about using the crock pot?  Maybe something where don't have to do a lot of prep, but just toss everything in?

I thought about that, but anytime I use the crock pot, I come home from work and the entire smells like whatever I'm cooking in there.  Usually I would love this, but not right now.  I usually make chili, salsa chicken, jambalaya, pulled pork, sausage/peppers, and meatballs in the crockpot.  All smelly foods.  Beef cooking is especially nauseating at the moment.

  • Tonight: leftovers from Saturday night's dinner that DH cooked for FIL's birthday- chicken cutlets, mashed potatoes, biscuits, corn.

Thinking of crockpot chicken with pineapple and bbq sauce for tomorrow- but I have to check to see if we have bbq sauce...hmm...woulda been a good thought before I left the house for work...

Other than that, no concrete plans.  I have ground beef I need to use, so probably beef & rice stir fry one night.  Also have Omaha Steaks I want to use so we can get that bulky container out of the freezer, so probably that one night.  We are having dinner at my parents' house one night this weekend to celebrate my mom's birthday too, which will be nice.  Probably just heat up a frozen pizza or something one night.  Geez, I am so uninspired cookingwise since I took on this new job assignment and its craptastic hours.  I gotta get back on track.

That's how I feel now. Good luck with the sea bands. They did not work for me during my first pregnancy. How far along are you?

    (I'm kind of a n00b here, don't mind me!)

I've been eating a lot of veggies with pasta, fruits, rice and breads. Not very interesting, but the smell of foods sickens me, too.

  • Very late but I am getting back to cooking and since I have to start hiding veggies in foods now, I'm getting more creative:

Monday: pork and twice backed potatoes (which contains veggies)

    Tuesday: Veggie pasta

Wednesday: Meatloaf loaded with hidden veggies and flavored rice

    Thursday: Lasagna rolls

    Friday: leftovers.

I am about 10 weeks.  I do much better with breakfast since it tends to be boring for me anyway - oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, etc.  I just don't feel like eating the same food for all of my meals!

  • Tracy - I had the worst m/s with my first.  I used a face mask when cooking to block most of the smell.  Once it was finished and I was eating it, it wasn't too bad, but the cooking was the worst.  Tiny bits of candied ginger under my tongue helped throughout the day as well as clementines and graham crackers.

Wed: bbq chx sammies, vegs and baked potatoes
    Thurs: white bean stew
