Small budget: small success (detergent)

I ran out of detergent and was at Costco about to pick up the $24 case of Tide, but I decided against that sized ding in my wallet.

I was later at the Dollar Tree and remembered I needed detergent so I ventured to try  "Laundry Detergent Oxygen" for a buck

Can I tell you I love it!  It worked just as well and the smell is perfect (clean and fresh and not too strong)

64 loads for a dollar - not bad.

  • not bad at all. I live near a 99 cents store and needed toilet paper- 4 rolls of name brand angel soft for 99 cents! I think I read somewhere that despite all the fancy things detergents add or say they do, the most effective is basic arm & hammer. It's amazing what we get used to paying for really basic things that don't need to be so expensive.

That's what I use! I fill the washer with water, sprinkle in some baking soda, add some white vinegar and tada! Clean clothes! (And you can't smell the vinegar on your clothes once they're dry- PLUS it keeps your wash machine clean!)

But also, I love dollar stores! Some of the stuff is a rip off, but when they get smaller sizes of regular name-brand stuff, its such a great deal!

I'm here a lot, you just don't see me cuz I can't post from my phone :)AlternaTickers - Cool, free Web tickers
