Me and DH booked our vacation today! We are going back to the Bahamas this summer, where we went for our honeymoon. Since this is likely going to be a baby-making trip (omg I can't believe it's in writing), we figured let's go all out and have one (last?) big vacation!
Ok, so if you notice, I added a weight-loss ticker to my siggy. I've put on some weight, and I'm very upset by the way I feel. I set my ticker to measure my current goal of 12 lbs. to lose. That's what I need support with
I figured that putting it there would keep me accountable, and motivated!

Thats a good idea about the ticker, hopefully that will help! I am not happy about what the scale says either, through I'm trying to get into going to the gym more first and once that is habit and routine I'm going to look closer at my diet and how I could eat better. Good luck!

I signed up for MyFitnessPal.com
It tracks everything you put in your mouth and you try to stay under the calories given. Because I don't have THAT much to lose, it is nice to see what i'm putting in my mouth that contributes to my weight gain.
Oh, tropical beaches sound so amazing right now! I'm so jealous.
And you have all the support you need for losing weight! You can do it and you will look and feel amazing on your vacation!

Can I first say I am SO jealous of your trip! Ugh!
Also, you have all the support I can give you with the losing weight thing. I have posted on here about it before, but have you ever tried Spark People? It gives you a set amount of not only calories to eat each day, but everything from fiber to sodium to fat, etc. Also, is a wonderful fitness tracking device, and they will give you set workouts if you want them to, too (they will also give you set meal plans if you want). They have everything you could need. Oh yea, and it is FREE! They have an app for droid and iPhone, too. They even have a Recipe Creator thing that you put in all of your ingredients and number of servings to get the nutritional information. That was maybe my favorite part. Seriously, check it out!

Good luck with the weight loss! It's definately a struggle...I know I've been challenged the last few days, but you CAN do this! We should start another check in since there are a few of us on the diet wagon.

April Nesties March siggy challenge: Next Vacation, Anguilla!!
Danie: I joined Spark because of you a few months ago!! It was awesome, but I am so used to counting weight watchers points, that counting calories was tricky. I know that sounds ridiculous, esp because I pay about $18 a month for WW online, but I am so much more comfortable with it. But I loved Spark recipes and I still check that out once in a while!

I'm there with you. I've gained about 10lbs since our wedding and I'm trying to loose it. I've allowed myself my morning chamomile tea w/ honey and one glass of iced tea in the evening but other then that I'm forcing myself to drink water and trying to cut out most sweets (usually chocolate after lunch and dinner). Hoping that works because I don't snack a lot other then the sweets. I've started working out but its hard getting home from work so late.
