Lows? Checking the bank account this morning
Eat/make anything good? Made chocolate chip and cranberry scones.
Watch anything good? Watched The Kids are Alright last night and it was good.
Read anything good? No.
FFC's, vents, comments, observations, AWs? Nothing.
What are you looking forward to this week? I have book club this week so it'll be nice to take night off from running and drink wine instead
What are you dreading this week? Nothing.
What would you rather be doing today? Hanging our new curtains from Restoration Hardware. We meant to do it this weekend, but didn't get around to it.
Highs? Lots of down time with DH and DD. Telling DD about the pregnancy Friday night.
Lows? Feeling sick and worn out at least half of each day. DH still recovering from his stomach flu.
Eat/make anything good? Cream of crab soup and a steak both hit the spot this weekend.
Watch anything good? I watched The Replacements last night. I love that movie.
Read anything good? I'm reading White Witch, Black Curse by Kim Harrison.
FFC's, vents, comments, observations, AWs?
1. DD's been eating an embarrassing amount of fast food lately because I've been feeling so sick and I'm trying to do some damage control. At lunch yesterday, I ordered bacon and cheese fries as an app, and told her that she could have some of those but had to get fruit as the side with her burger.
When lunch came, she started eyeing up DH's fries that came with his meal and I told her that she'd had plenty - no more fries, just the burger and fruit that were her lunch. Within 30 seconds, DH told her that if she ate a piece of her burger, he'd slip her a fry "when Mommy isn't looking." I thanked him for undermining me and he had to backpedal with Mia. I was *ticked*.
2. Last night DH came to bed at 1am. The lights were off and I was in bed. And he walked in talking about something he'd discovered about his guitar and playing it on the computer or somesuch. Then he got into bed and wanted to talk about this or that or whatever. I finally told him to shut up and go to sleep. I told him that if he wanted to talk, he should have come to bed an hour earlier when I wasn't TRYING TO SLEEP. I wanted to smack him.
3. I've joked for a long time now that I want to live next door to my Mom. And Mom and I joke about buying a house together, or land together with plenty of space for two separate buildings to live in. Last night DH started looking at large homes that we could all share and sending me links, and when I texted my Mom to tell her about it, she confessed that she'd started looking at land that we could build on. I have no idea if any of this will actually *happen*, but I'm excited by the prospect.
What are you looking forward to this week? I have a follow-up appointment with my OB today, complete with ultrasound. I'm anxious to see the baby again.
What are you dreading this week? Nothing comes to mind.
What would you rather be doing today? The same thing I always say: working a well-paying job.
Lows? Did our taxes and we owe about $4k, UGH. It's better than I thought though, I thought we were going to owe a good deal more.
Eat/make anything good? Made sweet corn soup with poblano puree. SO good. Also had the PBJ wings at Dark Horse, that were actually really good.
Watch anything good? I've been on a kick of watching ER reruns, so I watched about half of season 2 this weekend, hehe. Also Downton Abbey.
Read anything good? Am currently reading Neil Gaiman's American Gods. It's really sucked me in!
FFC's, vents, comments, observations, AWs? I HATE seeing the numbers go into the red on TurboTax. It wouldn't have been so bad, except that I didn't readjust out W4s after seeing that I was doing more freelance work than in years past. I can't believe how fast the weekends fly by, it makes me sad.
What are you looking forward to this week? A lot of people at work are away at a conference so it shouldn't be nearly as busy. Key word: shouldn't. Not having to cook much since I made about 2 gallons of corn soup, haha. Finishing reading my book.
What are you dreading this week? Just being at work all week. Not really dreading, just would always prefer to be elsewhere, ha.
What would you rather be doing today? Sleeping, reading, and getting some chores done.
Highs? - My mom and I hit a kids' consignment store sale and scored some great stuff for DS for next fall/winter for ridiculously cheap (it was all the winter stuff that was on clearance)!
Lows? - Not much, other than watching my EDD pass by w/ no baby. :P
Eat/make anything good? - I tried a recipe for homemade queso on Saturday and it came out really yummy! I also made a batch of Nutella blondies and, well... would you expect anything less than amazing from something w/ Nutella in it?
Watch anything good? - Eh, not really. We didn't have the TV on much this weekend, and when we did, DH had the NHL All-Star coverage on (either live or from the DVR).
Read anything good? - Nope, but I'm about to head to the library to pick up a book I've been dying to get my hands on! So excited!
FFC's, vents, comments, observations, AWs? - I'm beyond frustrated w/ my body and how it's handling going into labor (or, to be more accurate, how it's NOT going into labor). I've been dilating/having contractions since 34 weeks, yet I'm STILL pregnant - and this is EXACTLY how it was w/ DS. It seems that my body has to have the kickstart of having my water broken or getting Pitocin in order to get the show on the road, and it just pisses me off. It's also making me sad that this may be the last one (we're undecided on #3) and I never got to experience that "OMG water broke!" or contractions building moment to know when to go to the hospital... and I know DH is kinda bummed about it, too, which makes me feel worse.
What are you looking forward to this week? - Hopefully having a baby!
What are you dreading this week? - Um... see previous answer. These two are too close together for me to have forgotten what labor/delivery was like last time, so I'm partially freaked out at the idea of having to go through all that again when it's still so fresh in my memory!
What would you rather be doing today? - Something other than continuing to bake a baby. :P
... every single day of forever.
