DH and I will be staying in Santa Fe for one night in early March during our roadtrip from Los Angeles to Austin, TX for SXSW.
What are your favorite places to stay? We are looking for either a hotel in the 3-5 star range or a really great bed and breakfast. Cost doesn't matter too much. We don't want to go over $250 for the night.

Love is friendship on fire!

I spent one night in Santa Fe last summer on a drive from TX to Taos area. I was looking for a reasonable price, safe and near my DHs favorite restaurant. I stayed at the Pecos Trail Inn. They had an even cheaper rate when I asked about a "walk up rate" since I did not have a reservation The rooms are nicely decorated in Santa Fe style. It is not in the middle of the tourist area and not real fancy. I did go to the center of town and paid to park - easy drive. They have lots of public lots (all the same daily rate). DHs favorite restaurant is Harrys Roadhouse ( all meals). He also likes Tomasitas (Lunch/dinner) and Tecalote (for breakfast - get the bakery basket instead of tortillas).
