XP: Where Should I go on Vacation With H?
Hi! I've never posted on this board before, by my H and I are looking for a place to go for our 1 year anniversary in October.
For our Honeymoon we went to the Rivera Maya and stayed at the Now Sapphire Resort (all-inclusive). We had never taken a trip like this and we LOVED it, not to mention it was under $2000 for both of us to go, including airfare. The resort website is HERE
We would love to do a similar vacation, but probably to a different location. Puerto Rico or Hawaii but I can't find all-inclusive resorts at these locations and we would like one similar to the Now Sapphire. Does anyone know of any? A location other than the two I have mentioned would be fine, but these are our top two picks, so far.
Any other great locations with all-inclusive resorts?
FWIW, we went through Apple Vacations and a travel agent for our honeymoon.

Hawaii does not have all-inclusives like the one you visited in Mexico. The closest they have is Kona Village Resort on the Big Island which includes meals (but is extremely quiet, no tvs, no phones, etc) but is currently cloesd due to tsunami damage.
I highly doubt you can do a trip to HI, stay at a nice resort, etc., and only spend $2,000. Even when we stay in a condo or house, we have spent significantly more than that (the year we were on a budget we probably spent closer to $4,000 which was easily the cheapest trip we'd ever done to HI).
This, Hawaii is pretty expensive, especially depending on where you're flying from. We're on the east coast, and the airfare, roundtrip was close to $1200 (that included both of us, not $1200 each), but that was in 2009 so it's probably even higher now. Not that you shouldn't do Hawaii, but like pp said, it costs us closer to $4000-$5000. I've never been to an AI, or the Carribbean, so I'm of no help there.
