When the F did "cray" become "crazy"??!
Holy sh!t thats annoying! Has anyone else seen this? I keep hearing it on TV or seeing it in FB statuses.. Where the hell did it come from and are people THAT lazy to leave out a freakin' letter?!
Or should I say are they they "lay"..?
ugh!
Re: When the F did "cray" become "crazy"??!
Well, this is old news, but remember I spend my days w/ teenagers.
I've never heard it used by itself, though - I always hear it used twice, as in "That prebabyblog lady is cray cray."
*always remembering Annaleigh Lucy*
On the morning show I listen to they say "cray cray" (i.e. crazy) all the time. LOL at lazy becoming "lay".
A comedy show I went to back in college always stuck with me when the comedian said "we shorten every word and expression these days....first it was "hi, how are you?"....then that became "What's up?" then that became "Wassap?" and now people say "Sup!"...what's next? PUHH? (just the P sound). So frigging true!!

LOL. And I thought "what is she?"
This is why MH has a book about 2 inches thick to help him decode text messages, etc at work!
I never heard it outside of work until yesterday or the day before when I saw it here.

Around the same time that "totally" became "totes". ugh, makes my skin crawl when I see that one!
cray cray I'm actually ok with, lol

I DESPISE "preggers" and "preggo." Even "PG" annoys me.

It actually comes from Jay-Z and Kanye's song, That Ish Cray... see below:
Leave it to Jay-Z and Kanye West to boggle our minds with their play on words, but alas, they have done it again with their hit single "Ni**as in Paris."
The term "Cray" isn't a shortened form of "crazy," and it's not spelled "cray," it's actually "Kray." The reference is made to schizophrenic twins Ronald and Reginald Kray, who were the crime lords of London in the 50's and 60's.
The police were unable to find them on several locations, which would explain the lyrics "ball so hard muthafu**as wanna fine me. That sh*t Kray. That sh*t Kray. That sh*t Kray."
This concludes your lesson in rap history for the day.
huh, learn something new every day.. and I bet 95% of the people using it dont know that!! lol
