S/O - napping at daycare/pre-school - shoes??
Our new school has the kids wear their shoes in bed (well it's a cot with a sheet & a blanket.) I was told it's for fire safety reasons - God forbid the fire alarm goes off, they'd need to be able to evacuate quickly.
Frankly, I wouldn't mind if E ran out in socks, lol
I just think it's dirty, uncomfortable, and just not conducive to my daughter actually taking a nap in the middle of the day - something she's pretty much outgrown.
What's it like in your school?
Re: S/O - napping at daycare/pre-school - shoes??
It never ever occurred to me, lol.
In a fire, I wouldn't care what they were wearing as long as they were OUT. It does seem really uncomfortable to sleep like that, but the kids don't seem to care.
*always remembering Annaleigh Lucy*
Yup. I've been at K's school at naptime and none of the kids cared that they were wearing shoes.
They wear shoes. It's not the daycare saying they have to. It's the licensing/firecode board.
The only time the kids take off shoes is when changing into snow boots of changing clothes after an accident.
As soon as they walk they need shoes all day.
Same here.
They also sleep on a very firm mattress with no blanket still and they don't mind. So shoes is a non issue for us.
Isn't it a law that they need to have shoes on?
That being said - she obviously sleeps with shoes on, it doesn't bother me. She's sleeping for 2 hours a day on the blanket and I wash them at the end of every week. If it's between her not sliding across the floor with socks on if God forbid there were a fire and getting a little dirt or some wood chip pieces on the end of her blanket, I'll take the dirt. Not a big deal to me. Sometimes she does it at home, too, to be honest... it's a battle I'm not willing to fight every single time - I'd prefer her peacefully going down for a nap.
