GTG recap
Here's a short recap.
Erin, Otter, Skipping, SLouWe, and Angry got together Friday afternoon and Stellar and I met them at the hotel at about 11 that night. When we got there, there were a lot of hugs and laughter. As it turns out, Mary was able to make it to Austin, too.
We stayed up late drinking shots, mixed drinks, and beer. We ate a few cheese nips and had the hotel security guy get onto us for being too loud (why were we out of the room? I don't remember.)
Saturday morning we woke up and had breakfast and mimosas at Magnolia Cafe in South Austin. After that we oooed and ahhhed over some cute adoptable pups, shopped in some weird stores, and then left to meet VXS at the hotel.
From the hotel, we went to the Zilker Botanical Gardens, which despite it being the middle of winter were still quite pretty.
After that, Erin and I took everyone on a very scenic route back to the hotel to show off some beautiful parts of Austin including the 360 bridge that spans Lake Austin.
For dinner we ate at Hula Hut while watching the sunset over Lake Austin. From there, we went back to the hotel to get ready for our big night out on 6th street!
I know we said "What happens on 6th street stays on 6th street", but I will say that we shut down the town. Almost quite literally, as the power went out at the club around 11:30 or 12 and didn't come back on until we were passed out at the hotel much later.
6th street was so much fun, and personally it was the most fun I've had there!
Sunday is a little blurry to me but I do remember kolaches and chilling on the Spider House patio.
Thank you to everyone who came so far for the GTG, and I hope it was worth your trip... I know I'll never forget it!

And we had both! DH gave me a back massage last night to work out some soreness... I probably pulled it during the macarena or something.
Now that you said something, there was minor injuries on my part.
I think some of the girls were able to see first hand how clumsy I really am. Ha!
I'm not going to lie - I expected with this big of a group there would be something that cause a little drama.. but No! Nothing! It was great!

I've never had a "girls night" and this was by far the best ever!
I had a blast; it was definitely worth the trip! Both Austin and the company was beautiful and I'm glad I was feeling better by the time the real party started. I just wish it had lasted a little longer.
Good recap! The lights went out closer to 1:30 or 2, only because I remember saying we had time for either another drink or pizza before last call.
And the power didn't just go out at the club, there was a downtown blackout that affected some 8 or 10 blocks and everything was out. The street lights, buildings, everything was dark, it felt so weird since that had not happened to me except in hurricane situations. Turns out a couple electrical fires did the damage, but that was crazy. We were all in the hotel darkness with our gadgets and phones to give us enough light to finish off the night. Good times.
I agree that everyone was just lovely & even better in person. Each one is fun to be around & knows how to have a fun time, I definitely consider you all friends that I would hang out with again.

I just want to share my favorite pic of the night. This was the DJ at one of the bars. He was so much fun!

DJ Veg was awesome! He got the whole bar singing Biz Marquee when the power went out the first time a zapped his sound system for a minute.
OMG, the museum of weird! Stellar and Missus and I did this museum that was like a Ripley's on 6th street....then we saw a freak show...I have a video. I'll upload it to YouTube...I pulled a freaking nail outta the guy's nose!!
The hotel was so dark in the rooms when we got back...we really did shut down Austin!
It was seriously a fantastic time and I was really surprised at how well we all got on...no drama, no awkwardness...it was great!
