Thanks Ladies- the story (long)

So we're finally home. This is what happened this weekend.

Friday, our nanny called me at work and asked me to come home because Myles seemed pretty sick. So I came home, he was giggling laughing, just breathing hard, so we gave him his inhaler and it seemed to help, so we just snuggled and he went to bed no problem.

Saturday he woke up and was breathing so hard his whole torso was working to get him to breathe, so I called his dr and we were able to be seen at 11am. We went in, and the dr told us he has bronchiolitis, which is a form of RSV. Best guess is that he picked it up from the gym daycare since we have in home day care. He gets suctioned out and a breathing treatment and he seems better. The dr sends us home and says if the symptoms return call him and we'll decide what to do next. Of course around 5pm it all starts again, we tried the inhaler, nothing, his nostrils started flaring too so we called the dr and said we were on our way to the ER.

So in the ER we get another breathing treatment, they Physician Assistant is about to discharge us and the nurse notices that Myles is breathing really really fast (like 88 breaths per min, they worry at anything over 60) so they gave him 20mins to calm down to see if anything changed, it didn't so he was admitted.

He was on oxygen all night, and had to get suctioned out every 2 hours. Let me tell you the screams of bloody murder were difficult, especially when he was crying "ma! ma!"

Because the next day he still congested in his chest, we had to stay and continue the protocol. This morning his lungs finally sounded clear and we were able to leave at noon if they stayed that way.

They think the reason it hit Myles so hard was because of the difficulty he had breathing at birth, and that he needed to be intubated. He's also at risk for other pulmonary complications in life, but we'll take them as they come.

He's such a big and happy baby, he never stopped smiling even though all the hospital staff had to wear masks and gowns around him. Everyone came in and would say "I heard he was big, but wow!" He's now 30.5inches and over 22lbs.

Thanks for all the vibes ladies he's so much better! Now he just has a slightly stuffy nose, and he should be OK within a few days.
