Any real estate agent nesties?
Our Ankeny house is currently on the market. Technically, it is for sale by owner, but we did decide to use a flat fee realtor who charges $499 to post your home on the MLS, realtor.com, and homefinder.com. Our hope was that that publicity would help us get some showings. I am sure we are totally biased and that everyone thinks their house is great, but we just feel like our house will show well and that compared to the comparable properties out there in the same price range, we should be competitive. However, it has been 2 weeks since we listed with her and we have had only one showing from a realtor. We thought that since we would still pay the buyer's realtor their 3% if they brought a buyer to our house, they would be just as motivated to show our house as they would be to show a house listed by one of the major real estate companies. Does anyone know anything about this? Do agents prefer to show homes listed by the major companies or does it really matter to them as long as there is a commission attached? Maybe no one is getting showings right now, but we have heard that this time of year is actually a really busy one in the housing market, so we were just feeling a little nervous!! Thanks!
