I don't have the traditional checklist form but I want to know what you mommies are thinking about!
What is the weirdest combination of food that has sounded good to you (or that you have eaten)?
What nursery ideas are swirling around in your head?
What's the worst name that your spouse has suggested?
Have you told your families/extended families yet? Do you have any fun plans of how to tell them?
Have you thought about a newborn photo shoot? If so, PIP your favorite inspiration photo you've seen! (or link is fine, I really just want to look at cute babies)
What is a pr/br trend that you really can't get behind?
Re: Mommy-to-be poll

I've been eating pretty bland lately due to nausea, but ice cream always sounds good, any time of day.

No theme or color scheme, just kind of whimsical and fun, lots of elements that we love. Some winnie the pooh stuffed animals, a couple nautical touches (lighthouse nightlight), a little geekery throw in here and there...We just want it to be a fun and relaxing atmosphere.

Thrud. Not kidding. I think it's Thor's daughter's name. I vetoed it before he finished saying it. I'm pretty sure he was kidding....

We're going home President's Day weekend to tell them all in person. We'll have had our 1st ultrasound by then. I think with DH's family we're going to wrap up a grandparents frame with our due date in it and have MIL open it, since her birthday is that week before. We will probably just tell my family by asking for the family bassinette that has been handed down to every child since my great-grandfather.

I will be doing all the newborn pics, but I would like a photog friend of ours to do some relaxed family shots so all 3 of us are in pictures together. I will have my camera at the hospital so I want to document as much as possible.

Gender reveal parties - there's no need to make such a huge deal out of it (although I am not opposed to having the u/s tech check "boy" or "girl" and put it in a sealed envelope to open together in private over dinner or something. But having a party with cupcakes or balloons with family and making a huge deal is just nms. Family will get a phone call.
I am also not a fan of maternity pics with bare pregnant bellies, where the shirt is open or pulled up or something. It just looks awkward to me. I don't get why just having a big belly isn't enough. Along those lines, I am even more puzzled by the couple being topless and holding each other in maternity pics. Weird. I wouldn't want to show anyone pics like that. I guess I'm more of a lifestyle photo girl than trying to look all smexy.

I absolutely agree with both of the above!
I'll probably have my appt to find out the gender while DH is away backpacking with his brothers. I'll try to have my appt. as late in the week as possible, and have the tech put it in an envelope. I might have a cake made or something so that DH and I can cut into it together the night he comes home, mostly because I love dessert haha.
ick, and I saw a maternity picture on facebook of someone completely naked, and she was positioned so you couldnt see her bits. I thought it was totally trashy, and there were about 30 comments saying how awesome it was. I would have freaked out if that was apic of me and it was all over facebook....but the girl seemed pumped that it was her, adn it was out there.
Agree with both! I agree with the first mainly because my SIL whom I don't like is having a gender reveal baby shower. My only thought to this is - WTF?! If you don't want to find out the gender and get gender-neutral gifts, great. Why would you find out the gender after everyone has already bought you a gift? If you're going to find out at least tell people so they can buy you a gift for a boy or a girl. Ugh.
And other peoples pregnant bellies freak me out a bit. I think they're cute beneath clothes, but I saw a bunch of pictures the other day of pregnant ladies with henna all over their bodies/bellies getting portraits done and it was creepy.
