I am sure I've seen recommendations in the past for handymen (or women!) - who have you used and who do you love?
gosh, i love my husband but he is sooo not handy. (and neither am i)
Re: handyman recs?
We only trust our guy, Isaac, with all our home repairs stuff. LOVE him and his whole team, Isaac Swieter #210-8299 - Tell him Patrick & Victoria Foster sent you.
They're actually coming this week to install some doors for us, and again in a few weeks to do basement windows.
They're VERY reasonably priced and you don't pay until the work is done! They do literally EVERYTHING!
It depends on the job.
For our 3doors, plus some over hang work on our porch it's $200- we bought the doors ourselves.
for the basement windows- the windows will cost us $500-he's buying them, from Menards because he'll get a contractor's discount, then it's like $450 to have them install them. And from what I've learned basement windows are a huge PITA.
We also had a major scare w/ our home owners insurance inregaurds to some outside window framing rot. They fixed basically 6windows for $500-that included the price of material and labor. And because we had to have it done in a short amount of time, they were able to get in fast and get it taken care of before our insurance was canceled.
