The last few days, my happy baby has been screaming bloody murder. She seems like she's in pain but I can't tell what is bothering her. She doesn't have a fever though she might be teething (gums are not irritated/ swollen/ red/ bumpy). She calmed down when I had her suck on a frozen washcloth and when I removed her CD. I ended up putting her in disposables on Sunday/ Monday because she looked somewhat irritated and seemed more comfortable in them.
She also seems angry that letdown is taking too long or she's having to work for her food. We've gone thru this before but she usually will end up nursing. Last night, she absolutely just screamed and screamed until I finally gave her a bottle of formula (I had just pumped shortly before she woke up).
She had the same cry at daycare as well. I can't tell if it's a nursing issue or if she's hurting or what her deal is... anyone have any ideas?
Re: more baby/nursing/ crying advice
I'm thinking teething as well - esp because she calmed down when you gave her the washcloth. Sometimes sucking/nursing can hurt with teething, so maybe that's what is going on. I know, with DD, she'd go through these extremely grumpy phases that would last for a month, and we'd blame teething, but I always ended up taking her to the doctor because I'd start to doubt myself...and then a tooth would pop up the next day. Now I've realized that she only wants ice/cold things to suck on when she is teething.
