Despite urging her daughter not to follow in her footsteps and stay in school, Stanescu told The Sun that Maria left to get married when she was just 10 and gave birth to her first child the following year.
This makes me want to know about their circumstances. Most 10 year olds I know - running off to get married isn't even on their radar. Sex might be - not going to speak to that. So, what puts this kind of thing on the radar of a 10 year old?
Or, who is it that is marrying these girls? And who is allowing them to get married?

It's sad the sexual abuse of children in Romainia seems like "no big deal"
This makes me sad.
But I'm still laughing at Interro's response.
I was actually thinking the same thing, except Im 20! Me and my SO are currently TTC our first... Its hard for me to think about caring for a child at my age! I couldn't even imagine being a grandmother!
But as sad as that is, it's probably not that uncommon in other cultures. =(
