Neptoon's food aversion got me thinking.
What food do you absolutely hate. Just thinking about it makes you feel gross?
It's also super sleepy on the board and I'm bored.
Re: Food Question
I'm with Abarber on the mushrooms, blech.
Also I can't stand a lot of dairy products like milk, sour cream, cottage cheese, blue cheese, etc. The smell alone makes me want to gag.
Well I've been a vegetarian for 17 years, so no meat or fish for me. Or anything with gelatin (which is actually kind of a lot of things
.)
But purely taste-wise...I also usually avoid mushrooms (raw white ones don't bother me, but I rarely like them cooked.) I don't like brie. I don't really like kiwi. Milk on its own or in cereal really grosses me out; I can tolerate it in coffee if I don't think about it too much. I HATE maraschino cherries, or anything that has touched maraschino cherries, lol. I'm sure there's more, but that's off the top of my head.
Mmmmm, mushrooms. I love mushrooms.
There's not much I won't eat. Even PG I haven't had a ton of food aversions. More like smell aversions. I can't stand the smell of Subway right now. Or the seafood section at the grocery store by my house. Or our cats food.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Japan really refined my list down to three things:
octopus (the suckers freak me out)
natto (fermented beans that smell like Windex)
anything where I'm required to eat a head.

There are so many things I don't eat, and most are things that other people really love: steak (and most other forms of red meat), cheesecake, strawberries, and asparagus are the main ones.
Being PG, I can't stand salmon or chicken, which are normally my go-tos for protein. I'm ok if they are small pieces as part of other things, but when I see the whole piece on a plate, I have no interest in eating. Hopefully, that will change in the coming weeks.
Also, ditto what Raynes said about smells. I used to love broccoli, but the smell kills me.
mushrooms, mmmmm. and brussel sprouts. together. yum.
About the only 'normal' food I can't do is cottage cheese. The texture makes me want to gag. Other than that, I won't eat fish heads or exotic organ meats, or raw octopus and stuff like that.
Did you hear they had the contestants on Fear Factor drink donkey semen and urine? There's not enough money to make me ingest anything that disgusting.
I can't think of anything off the top of my head that I hate THAT much. I don't like olives though. But they don't make me sick just to think of them or anything.
I had so many food aversions while I was pregnant! Eggplant was a big one, most types of squash, and pork (including bacon). Let me tell ya - being Chinese and not eating pork was a challenge.
