Stephanie Plum lovers...

Have you seen the movie, yet?

What'd you think?

Re: Stephanie Plum lovers...

  • I didn't get super into the series (I think I read the first 3), but I went to see the movie with a friend on Friday.  I thought Katherine Heigl was better in the role than I'd expected her to be.  I loved the casting for Ranger, but my friend, who is a big Ranger fan, didn't like the way he was cast.  I thought Sherri Shepherd was great as Lula.
  • I LOVE the series - totally brainless and fun. I saw the movie Saturday night and LOVED it!!  I think Heigl is a good Stephanie Plum but I agree that Ranger isn't what I expected and Morelli isn't either.  Regardless, I finally bought the book that came out LAST SUMMER and am very irritated I have not had time to open it!
  • Love this series but haven't had a chance to see the movie... I probably won't until it comes out on DVD either. :(

I'm glad to hear Heigel wasn't that bad... I really can't picture her as Stephanie but oh well.

For some reason as I've read the books I have always pictured Ranger as The Rock.

  • The picture I had in my head of Ranger from the books was not attractive to me.  The Ranger in the movie, however - mmmm, mmmmm, good.
  • Good! I really liked it, too! I was afraid I had terrible taste and all of y'all would say you hated it. LOL

I went in with pretty low expectations but I was pleasantly surprised! KH did a nice job at Stephanie - that was most shocking. I thought Morelli was more or less right. As for Ranger, the image was perfect, but he was TOO CHATTY! Ranger is a man of few words. Really, I wasn't disappointed with any of the casting.

The only thing I left being concerned about was if it was too 'choppy' or not. For people who hadn't read the book, would they be able to follow very well? I mean, I know it is total mind candy and not a complex plot, but would they 'get it'? Everyone I went to see it with had read the books, so it wasn't an issue. For instance, they never explained who Mary Lou was even though she was in several scenes. It was just a thought I had about it...

Okay, now I am confused, who is Mary Lou? Do you mean the receptionist?

I was disappointed in Morelli because he was supposed to be 100% Italian and that guy...was not.  Like, at all.

I actually a similar thought when we were leaving the theater.  I don't know if I would have enjoyed the movie if I hadn't read any of the books.

Her best friend who she was constantly one the phone with. At least, I'm pretty sure that's her name.
