If you have an iPhone and an iPod,

Do you still use your iPod?

Something is going on with my iPod and I can't figure out what.  It's 4ish years old and is only a 8GB one, so at the very least I was thinking I could replace it... but then I also decided that in the pretty near future i'll be getting an iPhone.

I'm not sure if I'll still need an iPod after i get an iPhone.

Re: If you have an iPhone and an iPod,

  • Nope.  I had intentions to, putting audiobooks on the iPod instead of my iPhone, but it's so old it won't run the overdrive app and I decided it's more hassle than it's worth.  I've thought about wiping it and selling it on eBay though.

  • No, not at all. That was a big part of the appeal for me with the iPhone--everything in one device. Plus you can download stuff directly to your phone!

  • I use mine for the gym, my iPod is a mini, easy to run around with/ if I drop it it won't shatter.

    That's it though, I really don't NEED 2.

  • I just got my iPhone in the mail an hour ago... can't wait to play with it!

I have an iPod Touch in my car and there was some sort of weird software upgrade issue that made it unusable with my car with the newest version of iTunes, which leads me to believe that my new iPhone may also not work.  If it DOES work, then I'll throw the old iPod into the docking station in my basement and use my phone in the car - but if it broke I definitely wouldn't buy a new one.

  • I do, but only because I sync my iphone once in a blue moon and have never managed to remember to actually pull over my music. That said, I don't really use my ipod that often now that I stay at home all day.
