Fifth Anniversary
in Seattle Nesties

I want to infuse some vodka with tea for some fun cocktails to serve for my b-day party in a few weeks.

Since we have so many tea-lovers on this board, I'm hoping some of you could make some suggestions on what type of tea I should brew with my vodka.

I'm not sure what kind of cocktails I'll make yet, but one idea I've come up with is:  Black tea infused vodka, fresh limeade, soda.

I'm open to any and all ideas!  TIA

    Oooh, strawberry tea. You could make an awesome completely alcoholic strawberry lemonade that way...

    This. I like my vodka with energy drinks. Maybe I'm just not the biggest tea fan. Good luck though! Happy to hear someone is infusing vodka!

    I don't have anything set in stone yet, but I really like the fruity idea, thanks!  I will probably go buy the looseleaf stuff sometime early next week, so I have time for it to brew/infuse with the vodka.  Trying to figure out what to mix with it will be the hard part :)

    I totally missed this, but the de Luxe in CapHill has these tea-based cocktails, and one of them is a blueberry tea based one that is really good!

    For a black tea, I really like the flavor of Assam but had to stop drinking it as it was too acidic for my tummy in the morning, but I bet that would be tasty. Herbal teas seem the most obvious and natural pairing...chamomile could make an interesting flavor. H has infused chamomile with some other flavors when making his Weisn-inspired vodka. Market Spice has a really interesting honeybush tea that could be cool. Likewise, you could get their classic "Market Spice" and make a Pike Place cocktail. :)

    I drink puer tea and I can't imagine it spiked either. I have made Emeril's Lemony Spiked Sweet Tea (though it might use rum instead of vodka) and it was really good. But, I'm also from the south and like sweet tea.
