What are you all doing for your DH for Valentine's day? Today is Feb 1 and I have no idea. Inspire me!
Re: Valentine's day ideas
how friggin adorable is your siggie pic???
we have a tradition of recreating our wedding dinner for V-day. unfortunately, we've only actually done this once in our 7 years! lol!
when it falls on a weekday, we usually have lunch together.
LOVE your siggy pic!
we have reservations at zola but i want to make sure that the prix fixe isn't the only option since i really want to be able to choose from the full menu. if it is, we'll choose something else.
Thanks, ladies! He's my little valentine!
Since V-day is during the week, we probably won't make it out to dinner. Any gifty ideas? DH is SO hard to shop for!
We don't tend to go all out for Valentine's Day. Since it's a weeknight, we'll just have our usual one hour dinner together when DH is on break. I might try to make something nice, but I'll be constrained by the fact that I usually only have about 30 minutes to make dinner and have it ready when he gets home.
I am off the next day, because I have to work on Saturday so if it's nice maybe we'll do a hike or something before DH goes to work.
we don't do gifts for vday. only cards.
we're making dinner at home & it's going to be mussels for an app, TJ's stuffed flounder, TBD veggie/starch and then poached fruit over angel food cake for dessert. Oh, and bubbly. I'm doing WW so trying to keep it diet-friendly in addition to being easy for a mid-week meal.

We usually go out to dinner or make dinner at home and don't do gifts.
Except this year i'm trying to con DH into buying me a YSL Arty ring.
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
My Food Blog
We always have a nice dinner, usually steak or lamb chops with baked poatoes, asparagus, and pots de creme for dessert. DH is making me something in his workshop downstairs. I have no idea what it is. I ordered him a Dr. Who poster from ThinkGeek.com and will frame it for his office. Normally I wouldn't get him anything other than a card, but since I know he is hard at work on something for me....
Since DD is old enough to celebrate this year, I am thinking of making homemade macaroni and cheese for the kids dinner and serving it as the starch for ours. It's both of their favorite meal. I'll also do cupcakes the kids can decorate for dessert (I keep frozen homemade ones in the freezer) To DD, nothing is more special than a cupcake with sprinkles. And we have all sorts of fun Valentine's Day sprinkles to choose from.
After some serious web searching today, I'm going to try to find a print to put in our bedroom. DH has been complaining for AGES that we don't have anything on the walls in there, and we've been planning on painting and refreshing it anyway. Something like this, but I'd like it larger....

I did the collar stays from RE a few years ago, and DH still wears them. That one was def a success!
LOVE the cupcake idea for DS. We'll be on a bit of a cupcake overload in the next couple of weeks (b'day party Saturday, then his actual birthday is the 10th), but what's one more? :-)
