Mine:
Eric Clapton wrote the song "Layla" about his obsession with George Harrison's wife, model Pattie Boyd. Pattie left George for Eric...they later divorced.
(She was also the inspiration for Harrison's "Something", "I Need You", "For You Blue" and "Isn't It a Pity", and Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight" and "Bell Bottom Blues".)

I recently read about the origin of the word "ampersand." It used to be part of the alphabet, after Z. It the ABC song kids would sing "and, per se" and they words were combined to make the word "ampersand."
