Buying A Home
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
We are shopping for our mortgage right now and I wonder if anyone has used them or has any recents recs? Thanks!

Re: Lending Tree
My problem with Lending Tree is that it opens you to a lot of spam mail and phone calls. I put in an application way back to get pre-approved when I first started my house search, and I got about 20 phone calls and who knows how many emails. Often times, I would get the most junior person at a company (because who else would depend on blind referrals). Rarely would I get a "real" offer -- every person required that I send in an almost full application to find out what rate I could get, so I didn't save time either.
I'd recommend that you ask your realtor and/or friends/family in the area who recently bought a house for recommendations. Shop around within those recommendations for the person right for you.
