My boss just walked in with her results from the physical she had last week. She started ticking through the results of the tests she had done like she was all proud ("my good cholestoral is only one point low", "my glucose is only one point high") and she started talking about the cramping she was having from her IUD insertion and how weird it is to get your boob smashed for a mamogram.
My boss and I are cool and have known each other for over 6 years, but I still don't need to know the inner workings of her body. I'm fine with ppl admitting they have cramps, or discussing medical problem that they are going through (it helps to talk about those things!), but too much detail about the day to day, mundane details puts me off in the same way it does when a mombie posts their child's bowel movements on fb. I swear, there hasn't been a UTI or an IBS problem of hers that I haven't known about, in detail, in the past 6 years.
Also, I think she's in a manic state because she won't.stop.talking!

Re: I don't need to know that
I think at that point I would have semi-jokingly said something like
"whoa, whoa ::obviously overly dramatic hand gesture:: I don't need to know that!"
Usually shuts people up.
I'm sorry you've had a six year record of her intestinal issues.
I will never understand why people think others want to hear about shiit like that. Because they don't. Ever.
"I'm not feeling well" is enough information for me.
