***Casperdy*** re: pregnancy core work
You are still working quite a bit, correct? I'm hoping you can help me.
So, I currently do cardio 4-5 times/week, strength (upper and lower) 3 times/week. I'm really lacking in the core department and I need it! My chiro showed me a great core exercise and I've been doing it but it doesn't seem like enough, and I don't see her for another 2 weeks. So, I'm looking for some core exercises that are pregnancy safe. Do you (or anybody else) have suggestions for me?
Thanks!

Re: ***Casperdy*** re: pregnancy core work
For part of my very pregnant girlfriends 30th birthday celebration, we had a private class at her gym to learn her prenatal exercises. For core, she did a few things. I can only really remember one.
1. Sit up straight on an exercise ball. Tilt your pelvis out then back in. Then in a figure 8.
There was another core exercise using a ball, but I can't remember exactly how she did it. You were on your knees with your feet on the wall. The ball was behind your bum. I think we went down on our forearms and pushed back against the ball. I can't remember exactly, but it was something like this.
I'm working out some still, but not as much as I'd like. Lifting 2x/week and swimming 2x/week.
The core stuff is tough, but here's what I did. I continued with normal sit ups, etc. through first tri. Then I started switching to crunches to replace sit ups. Otherwise, I am still doing some of my same core stuff, which is a lot of these:
Knees to elbows:

Hollow Rocks:

Sorry if not clicky-my work computer is wonky sometimes.
Otherwise, I've just relied on other stuff to help with my core-lots of overhead lifting where you have to hold your core tight, etc. Hope that helps a little bit!
Thanks, gals! Strong pregnancy abs, here I come!
I swim a couple of time a week so I'm sure that is helping, but I still feel week in that area.
