For some reason I'm having the hardest time figuring out where to go.
My sister and I want to go on a long weekend trip (Friday-Monday) to an all inclusive somewhere.
I am from Chicago and she is from Columbus, so Caribbean/Mexico is probably the best. We want all inclusive because all we want to do is sit on a beach or at the pool with cocktails. I don't care about being touristy at all, besides maybe some on resort activities (snorkeling, jetskiing, etc).
We don't have a strict budget, but would like flights to be around $500-600/flight and then around $200-300/night total for the all inclusive.
Puerto Rico would be fun, but there aren't many all inclusives.
Cancun is pretty easy and definitely within the price range, but my H thinks it's still dangerous down there. We'd be staying on the resort the entire time, but he seems to think that it's "too dangerous"...I roll my eyes at him. Has anyone heard that?
Jamaica seems to be ok, but I'm not sure which area to go.
Bahamas?
St. Thomas. Got married there a year ago and wouldn't mind seeing somewhere new.
Cabo is too far.
Any recommendations? Let me know!
TIA
ETA: I have actually been researching this for the past couple of days, but I just don't know much about AIs to know what to look for in a good one.
Re: Girls Long Weekend Trip-All Inclusive
Here is an good article about safety in Mexico. Maybe it would help to show it to your H. I don't know much about AI so can't help you there.

have been to cancun every december for nearly 10 years. never a problem.
your dh needs to do more research and know what he's talking about
He's normally not one to worry about that stuff and we travel a decent amount. It's not really like him at all and I think Cancun is going to be at the top of our list cause it's the most cost effective way to go.
Thanks everyone.
If Mexico isn't out of the question, you should look in to Valentin imperial maya. Adults only and within your budget (or less). We find enough to do on the resort to keep us busy all day and night!
