Extra-extra wide baby gate?

Our floor plan is pretty open. We have 90" between walls that we would like to gate off. The biggest gate I'm finding is 60". Any suggestions?

Re: Extra-extra wide baby gate?

  • Hmm...something like this would probably work, right?

Does anyone have one they are ready to part with at less than full price?

  • If you haven't already I'd check out Craigslist.  I just grabbed a very nice standard size baby gate for $5.

  • Is there supposed to be a pic or link in your second post? Have you thought about using a playyard? They aren't super cheap, but are very sturdy and hold up well, so would have decent resale value. The people we bought our house from had theirs open and screwed it to the wall on each end (and left the holes for us, bah). We used one in the basement to keep the cat out of the "family room" end of our long finished room without screwing it to anything and it still worked well.

  • Ha, yea, there was supposed to be a link to a superyard. I think that's what we'll end up doing. I'll do some checking for a 2nd hand one, but they are on sale right now at Target so I don't want to wait too long.
