Prayers Please

I need a some good, strong Maine Nestie vibes, please!

One of my best friends/most amazing woman ever is pregnant with her first child. She started having shooting pains in her side, so she went in and found out that she has a cyst on her ovary that is growing at a pretty fast rate (already up to 5cm). The pain is from the baby pressing against the cyst, and they are concerned it could twist around her ovary, which would result in surgery. Additionally, her doctor's believe that she has a bicornuate uterus (heart shaped), which could possible cause some really scary complications, including miscarriage, premature labor or an emergency c-section. They won't be able to tell for sure until her 19wk u/s in a few weeks. She is an incredible and kind woman, and she and her husband are two of my most favorite people, so if you could please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, I would really appreciate it. She is trying to maintain her calm, but has openly admitted to me that she is terrified.

Thanks a lot ladies, I really appreciate the all-powerful Maine Nestie Love!

  • Very scary; must be very stressful to have to worry about all of these complications for that long!  I'll be thinking good thoughts for them.

  • Sending lots of prays and juju her way. That has to be horrible to go through. I had a bad cyst form, along with a crazy estrogen spike, right when I got pregnant. the cyst grew but burst around week 10 ? maybe. It was horrible and I was in a lot of pain but that was that. That was bad enough, I couldn't imagine playing the waiting game and having those other complications. I hope everything goes well for her and baby!
  • Oh man...I'm sending good thoughts her way!
  • Good thoughts coming her way! I thought cysts were common at the beginning of pregnancy but this sounds a lot more concerning than a regular one.
  • Oh, that is terrifying!  Lots of good thoughts going their way!  Let us know how things turn out.
  • Lots of good thoughts headed her way.
  • Thanks so much all. It's a completely unimaginable scenario to be going through, and I really appreciate all the positive vibes for good u/s results. My mom did a little research, and I guess her uterus condition can range in severity, so we're holding out that she is at the low end of the risk spectrum and the cyst slows its growth rate.
