Baby swim lessons

Does anybody know where I could take my baby to get swim lessons? I want to do it when he turns 6 months old in March. Or right around then.

Re: Baby swim lessons

  • Waterbabies at the Y is pretty popular.  I did a couple sessions w/ G.  I didn't with Ingrid b/c we weren't members at the time (its super cheap for members). Honestly, I didn't think it was worth paying a higher price. It is just an intro to water class, which is something I can do w/o paying for instruction. Not that it isn't a good idea, and it is a fun mom/baby activity, it just wasn't in the budget at the time.  I think the urbandale pool also offers baby classes?

  • We did classes at the Urbandale pool through the parks and rec department.  It was around $40 for 8 classes (2 weeks, M-Th).

  • We did the Y Waterbabies for several sessions.  Now that M is almost 2, and is a fish in the water.  It's not "swimming lessons" but lots of singing and little activities to help them be comfortable.  We had a good time in the classes, I suggest them.
  • We did Waterbabies at the Y.  We aren't members but it was still super cheap, $35 for six weeks.

  • We've done waterbabies at the YMCA as members. We also did Aqua Tots through DMACC and enjoyed that too.

I can't find any information on this. Do you know where I could find information on it?
