Oscar predictions?
Are you planning on watching the Oscars? Is there a category you really care about, or a prediction you'd like to share?
By the way, is the ceremony starting at 8:30 this year? Thanks.

I always watch them, so yes, for sure. The only year I didn't was 2008 and I was in labor...but I DVR'd them and watched them later.
I don't necessarily have a favorite category, but I do like the ones that a lot of people don't care about. I like the entire process of making a movie and realize the importance of the little things. The Oscar that a sound engineer wins is the same as the one that George Clooney wins.
I'm still working on my predictions, but as of right now, I'm thinking the acting will go: George over Jean, Meryl over Viola, Christopher Plummer, and Octavia Spencer. I've got a few more movies to see before I can complete my list.

I think that Original Screenplay is really up in the air. I keep going back and forth between two of them. I may just wait until the writer's guild gives its award(s).
Two of the acting awards are locked; the other two could go either way. I really hope I am not making a mistake because that's a four or five point category. I'm pretty sure I have picture, director, and original screenplay right.
I have no idea about the technical awards... I hope that Hugo wins something. I really have no idea whether it's Moneyball or Descendants for adapted screenplay. If there's a huge Artist juggernaut, it could pull Original Screenplay... but I doubt it.
The predicting is the most fun for me. I find the actual ceremony somewhat boring, esp. during the 'dead zone' before the final hour.
