Re: Need food recs: Barcelona and Madrid
Rent a scooter Barcelona and drive around site seeing. It is a wild ride and tons of fun. Besides that the most my Dh and I got was the ridiculous amount of food and sangria we put away.
I read this first as something adventurous to do.So I am editing my post. I tried a lot of different fruits and seafood at st. Joseph's market. There is a restaurant near Mar Magnum that serves Kangaroo, but I can't remember the name.

One of my coworkers lived there in 2008 and suggested L'Ovella Negra by Boqueria. She said it is touristy, but even when she as a local she it was her favorite sit down place to and loved their sangria

Oh if you drink, L'Antiquari, serves my favorite Sangria of anywhere I've had in Spain. It's near the Placa de Rei. We found the bar at first on our honeymoon in 2009 and when we were there again in 2011 it was still there. My Dh joked that I was like a homing pigeon and he couldn't believe I remembered where it was. It has a more local vibe then some of the other bars we had gone too.
Now I want their Sangria.
