Carolina BBQ Sauce:
1/4 c brown sugar
1/4 c worcestershire sauce
1/4 c mustard (I like a mix of yellow & dijon)
2/3 c ketchup
1 T black pepper
1 T red pepper
1 T spice rub*
1.5 c apple cider vinegar
1/2 c white vinegar
1 c water
Whisk together in sauce pan. Boil 30 min until reduced and thickened (it will still be liquid-y, just a bit thicker). I use it for pulled pork.
*Rub:
3 paprika
1 blk pepper
1 salt
1 sugar
.5 onion powder
.5 dry mustard
.5 cayenne
Spicy Peanut Sauce
1/3 c peanut butter
1/4 c soy sauce
2 T rice vinegar
2 T sriracha (this is kind of a lot - be careful!)
1 T brown sugar
1 T minced ginger
3 T chicken broth
Pour over cooked linguine (or any noodles). I usually add grilled chicken, scallions, broccoli and pea pods (steam or saute the broccoli & pea pods first).
I was thinking you could try mirin as a substitute for soy sauce. It's basically sugar and rice wine and will add at least a somewhat similar flavor. The soy sauce is not a main flavor though, so you could try it with just leaving it out too.
Re: ~Jenny and KDuv~ Recipes
HAHAHAH - I was skimming at first and read that part about pouring over linguini. I was utterly confused and very grossed out thinking you were pouring the BBQ sauce over pasta.
Thanks for the recipe!
You're welcome!
LOL - yeah, I wouldn't recommend BBQ pasta! Damn, the more I think about it, the more disgusting it sounds!
LOL. BBQ pasta doesn't sound too appetizing.
Thank you for the recipe and tips!
