Are you following the Republican primaries? Plus ? about Obama
Have you been watching the Republican primaries and debates? I wonder when it is all going to be over. Are you happy with the outcome so far?
And this may be a silly question and I promise that I do try to keep up with the news back home but what did Obama get done during the last three years?
I know he took the troops out of Iraq. He tried to pass Obamacare but that didnt get off the ground. Is the economy doing a lot better? Help! Anybody care to give me a quick summary of his time in office.
Re: Are you following the Republican primaries? Plus ? about Obama
TBH, I'm super pissed at Obama. The areas where I thought I would agree with him based upon campaign promises (protection of civil liberties, closing of Gitmo, etc. etc.) he's done a complete 180 on. Not only has Gitmo not closed, he's expanded a shitton of the Bush era civil liberty curbs in the name of terrorism that he criticized so sharply when he first ran. I'm also not cool with ordering the death of an American citizen abroad by the us military without offering him the benefit of a trial. Not cool. Not cool at all.
That being said, I don't really like any of the GOP candidates all that much.
edited to fix a stupid iPhone autocorrectHave you been watching the Republican primaries and debates? I wonder when it is all going to be over. Are you happy with the outcome so far?
What I'm happy about is the Republicans as a whole have dogged Obama throughout his presidency and now they look like a bunch of high school drama queens trying to scratch their way to the frontrunning position. They can't play nice and I don't think many Republicans would say they are happy with the two frontrunners (Romney and Gingrich). If Mitch Daniels or Chris Christie would have thrown their hat in the ring then the Republican party would have been able to run away with this election.

I think this is Obama's biggest criticism. This is what you hear more and more about. He made promises and then didn't follow through. Eh?! I don't know, my opinion about Obama is clouded because I like the guy. But I definitely understand where people are disappointed. The man had one of the hardest jobs of any presidency I think in the last 30 or 40 years. Big banks failing, ending the war, fixing the economy, restoring the faith in American businesses. He wasn't able to get the job done (in some peoples eyes). In my eyes, he didn't improve much but he certainly didn't drive the nail into the coffin.
I know he took the troops out of Iraq. He tried to pass Obamacare but that didnt get off the ground. Is the economy doing a lot better? Help! Anybody care to give me a quick summary of his time in office.
You probably know just as much as I do, honestly.
I would like to say I'm not a Democratic nor a Republican. I don't like those labels I don't think they apply to me. But I did take an online quiz today and it said I was a libertian...what the what? Ron Paul 2012???
This is fun, if you want to know what Obama has done so far (the facts are correct, with links to cnn articles and stuff where whatever he's done is better explained)

But the asshattery coming from the Republican candidates is unacceptable times a bajillion. I'm hoping Obama takes his second term by the horns and does WhateverTF he wants. Meaning I hope he grows some ballz.
following? No, not really. There are so many. I'm just hoping the Republicans can come up with someone that will beat Obama.
Obama scares me.
A little. I'm independent, so I don't/can't vote in the primaries and try to just wait it out so I don't get too angry with the in-party fighting. When the candidates are set then I take a good look at their records, promises, and what I think can be legitimately done.
As far as what Obama has done so far, I once found this link and found it rather well-done:
