Pissy over my desk

They're extending my cube to include the one behind me - well, awesome!

I asked the facilities manager to have them lower my desk (because I'm so short my "ergonomics" is off).
I talked to the "safety" lady and she agreed that lowering the desk would help me relax my shoulders (part of my soreness).

aaand awesome facilities manager didn't tell them and they didn't bring the supplies for the shorter desk. Awesome. Now I have to basically change everything else as a result.
Get a monitor stand, get a foot rest (because at the proper chair height, my feet don't reach the floor), get a back thingy for the chair.

All because she didn't call. Thanks.

Re: Pissy over my desk

  • That would annoy the shiit out of me. I'm sorry. And I'm more pissed that the "safety" lady approved it but it wasn't done. WTF.

And my feet don't touch the floor in many handicap stalls (I don't need a rail, but my back has given out on the toilet before and it's awkward).

  • Huh.  If you have a cantilevered work surface, they should have been able to lower it.  I guess depending on the panels though, they could've needed diffferent brackets or something.  (This is what my dad's company does.)

Would it be cheaper for them to come back and lower it rather than to order all those other things?

had they known they would have brought the shorter brackets - they didn't, so they brought the "standard" ones
