Just got back from

flying from NC to SLC.  We stayed 1 night in Park City during Sundance but didn't get out much because it was snowing so heavily they were closing roads.

The next morning we drove from PC to Jackson Hole, WY to spend the week.  We stayed a week in a 3 bedroom condo we found on VRBO.

Did some skiiing, snowmobiling through Yellowstone, eating, drinking, and relaxing before driving back to SLC to catch our flight out on Saturday.

All in all it was great trip!  This was the first time we had flown in somewhere other than JH but honestly the scenery on the drive from SLC to JH is breathtaking.

I'll post some pictures this weekend once I have a chance to go through them.

This was also our first trip traveling with a toddler and she did amazing!  Thanks to you ladies for all of the wonderful advice you shared :)

Re: Just got back from

  • We are looking at visiting Yellowstone sometime this year (not for skiing). How far of a drive from SLC was it to JH and how far is JH from Yellowstone?

  • It took us about 5 hours however I think in the summer you could do it a little quicker.  We were driving on snow covered roads almost 100% of the way.

I've traveled to many places and this was hands down the most amazing scenery any of us had ever seen.

JH to Yellowstone is 63 miles.

  • Thanks! We are looking at about 5 days for Yellowstone and Grand Teton, does that seem doable or do you think (from what you have seen) we would need more time than that?

You drive through Grand Teton from SLC to JH.  I think 5 days would be just about right.

2 days in Grand Teton and 3 in Yellowstone.

What are you planning on doing?

  • Gotcha. Not sure what we are going to be doing- probably sightseeing/hiking. Hopefully going spring/summer so no skiing or anything like that. I'm not a fan of cold weather!!

You can go rafting.  The rivers are gorgeous.

  • That's a good idea! I wish we had planned to do that when we went to the Grand Canyon. It looked scary but fun!!
