Babies and Bumps (to be)

Since Sushi is on vacation, I figured I'd post.

Moms and moms-to-be, and those TTC, we want to hear about what's going on with you, your babies, and bumps.  Feel free to be a complete AW.

What's new?  Ups? Downs?

And of course, PIPs please.

Re: Babies and Bumps (to be)

  • I am starting to feel the baby moving pretty regularly, which is very cool.

We have our a/s on Monday and I am both excited and nervous for it.  We did not have an NT scan or any other testing for abnormalities, just a whole bunch of ultrasounds.  So I really want to hear the doctor say that everything is progressing normally and to find out if it is a boy or girl.

I'll make sure I do a pic this weekend so I can post it for next weekend.

  • I'm just over 14 ws now, and now, thanks to anti-nausea medication, I'm feeling pretty good.  I'm finally starting to have some energy back in the evenings, and I can stomach eating things other than just pizza, pasta, and crackers.  I've also told almost everyone at work.  I was super nervous about it, but everyone was really excited and congratulatory.  Also, I think my belly is starting to get a bit bigger (although I think I still look fat rather than PG), but I still haven't gained any weight.  I'm not really complaining about that, just a bit nervous because I imagined that once the m/s was under control, the pounds would creep on.  Did that happen to anyone else?

  • Officially down to about a month! Tuesday was my 35/35 mile marker. I had a Dr. Appt yesterday, and the baby's head is still down, but no dialation, which I'm ok with. I'd like him to cook a little more.

In other news, this is the part of the 3rd tri that sucks I think. I am so sore all the time, my hips keep popping and cracking, and sleep is pretty much non-existant. I've been relying on good warm baths to help make it bearable. Next appt. is in 2 weeks, where I will be full term!

I've been busy packing my hospital bag, and today I will be (finally) putting nursery furniture together. I still have to get our carseat installed as well, and a few odds and ends left to buy. It's getting close!

Here's my 35 week bump pic to share.

  • Neptoon- I barely gained any weight all pregnancy, and these last 8 weeks I've gained 10 pounds! They said it's good and completely normal, but don't stress about it. I'm 35 weeks, and I've gained 21 pounds so far, and they said I'm doing just fine.

And also, I STILL have m/s. It never really stopped for me. I still take zofran every single day if I want to eat anything or even function at all.

  • I just got back to work from the hospital, and it was (after all the blood was taken) a pretty great visit! I like my OB, and apparently my NT scan was the best he'd seen for someone my age, which was nice to hear! Apparently I have the internal genetics of a 15 year old (perhaps they're catching).

Next appointment is Feb 28 for the a/s... we're not finding out the sex (I hope we don't find out anything accidentally), but it'll be nice for Phil to see the baby!

I think I'm beginning to show - people at work have begun commenting that I've got the start of a bump! I'm totally feeling self conscious of everyone looking at my stomach before they start looking at my face. It's weird, man.

  • Hey all!

I guess the biggest news is that Darian is getting pretty good at sitting on his own now. It makes playing with him a lot more fun Smile He's been able to sit for a couple of weeks now, but only in the last few days has he been secure enough for me to actually get a pic.

    image

He's really quite a happy little boy these days and I just love being home with him, so much.

  • I forgot - Neptoon, listen to your body and your guts of course, but I don't think I started gaining weight until maybe 15 or 16 weeks, and then it was very slow and steady after that, like 0.5 lb a week until it picked up the last few weeks. My OB was totally happy with it. In the end, I gained maybe 20-25 lb (which was nice because most of it came off pretty easily).

  • No pic from me this week, the only full length mirror we have in the house is currently buried behind a mattress while we paint the nursery/reorganize the upstairs.

I'm 28 weeks today, and have a hard time believing that I've only got 12 weeks left.  I'm still feeling pretty good, though with this low nagging cold bugging me I'm absolutely exhausted this week.  I might try and wiggle my way into a day off tomorrow to rest and get some things done.

I think little Chewy might be getting hiccups occasionally.  There have been a few instances of what I think I'm feeling is how they're described.  I love feeling him move around, it's one of the coolest things.

The drama this week comes from Derek's side of the family.  After all my stress/sadness re: baby showers both my SIL and step-sis are planning showers.  Derek's gma is in Florida until mid-late April, and there's no way in heck I'm traveling 1.5 hours away from home/my hospital when I'm 38+ weeks.  If I had my druthers, the shower would be before the baby came, but I'm starting to think it's just not worth the stress on everyone, and just to say "fine, have it after".  But then Derek doesn't understand me not wanting to have Chewy around tons of people before he's 6-ish weeks old.  I'll talk to Derek tonight, and probably ok a 6 weeks postpartum shower, as long as I get to lay down some ground rules.

I'm pretty much the opposite.  As soon as I got my BFP I started gaining.  My doc is totally ok with where I am, but I'm (probably) at about a lb/week.

Everyone and every pregnancy is different.  Let your doctor be your guide!

I was the same way.  I started gaining weight immediately but have slowed down a bit in the last couple of months.  My doctor isn't concerned but I am not happy with my overall weight.  I gained weight immediately with the first pregnancy, gained more after the loss (due to depression), and gained even more with this pregnancy.  I'm trying not to stress about it and just focus on eating healthy and taking care of the baby, I'll fix the weight later.

  • Not much new to report here.

The boys did have their 18 month appt Monday and the Pedi is not concerned with Christian's growth or Zach not saying full words yet.

Christian only weighs 22.4 lbs, and Zach is at 27.5 lbs.  Christian still wears 12 month pants (18 months are to big around his waste).

For Zach our pedi said hopefully by 2 he will start to explode, so it set my mind at ease.

Otherwise here is a couple of recent pics.  (sorry for any of you on FB it might be a repeat).

This is there new favorite seat. They take the drum top off and love to sit.

  • chicha, your bump is cute!

I'm 10 weeks this week, and feeling wonderful. I'm not nauseous at all anymore, and I can pretty much each anything. I've been eating tons of fruit this week and really craving salads, which is a big change from the carb craving I had due to m/s.

I was debating on announcing to FB on Valentine's Day (will be 12 weeks) - my next appointment (which happens to be the NT scan) isn't until the 16th, and I just feel nervous making any assumptions that everything is okay. I've decided to just wait two days until we see the nugget on the 16th.

we have our announcement photos this weekend, which I'm pretty excited about. it won't be anything outrageous... just a few shots of me & DH, holding a chalkboard w/ EDD on it. I will be picking up a onesie too if I can find a cute one.

  • On Tuesday we had LO's 9 month appointment. She is 21 pounds 6 ounces and 28 inches long. She's in the 98th percentile for height and we expect she'll be a tall girl. The pedi is happy with her growth and development and no vaccines so it was a good appointment. I noticed that she cut another tooth, so she now has 4 on top and 3 on the bottom. She's consistently STTN which makes me a happy momma.

This is such a fun age and I enjoy every minute of it. She will repeat words and sounds and talks in baby babble constantly. She gets a kick out of Bailey and laughs when she grunts and snores.

I am starting to work on a few things for her first birthday party. I'm really excited but I can't believe how fast the time is going.

  • Jordan and P have been sick this week so when we took P to the doctor on Tuesday we discussed him still not talking. The doctor agreed we needed to make the next steps and we are going to start speech therapy. There is a great program in my county that I actually knew nothing about that he refered P to. I got a call yesterday afternoon and the speech therapist said she recieved preston's file and was going to look over it and get everything entered. She said she would be calling to set up his initial evaluation within the next week. I am really excited about it!

  • G is awesome. We are still working on the sleeping in his crib but making progress. He is such a happy baby so we are very lucky there.

I haven't had a more than 3 hour stretch of sleep since he was 7 weeks old so I am pretty tired and very ready for the 4 month wakeful to be gone. He is getting so big and independent though so I'm just enjoying the snuggles while they last.

I'm pretty sure he has started teething. He is in a bit of pain but nothing mommy cant fix right now. We'll see how it progresses. I'm excited to see those little things. I love baby teeth.

He rolls both directions and can sit up with help from his arms unassisted for a few seconds. It's so fun to watch him change and grow. I love staying home with my little man! I'm posting from my iPad so I don't think I can PIP but here is the link if anyone wants to see a pic!

I put on 7 lbs in the first 12 weeks, stopped for the next 4 and just started to gain again. I was starting to worry that I wasn't putting anything on!

  • Nothing new from Monday here. I told one other person at work, but I want to talk to my principal next week before the news gets out, so I'm keeping it quiet until then. I've gained 2lbs in the first 12 weeks (though with the evening bloat it feels like more) and I think some things are shifting because my pants are becoming pretty tight. I just need to make it two and a half more weeks until vacation to go maternity shopping...

Thanks ladies!  My doctor hasn't been concerned when we've discussed it, but I will definitely bring it up at my next appointment in a few weeks.  I just found it strange because pre-pregnancy I would gain weight just looking at food, and now, nothing seems to stick.

  • Things are going pretty well with us.  I'm 29w2d and still feeling good.  My back will ache after working out and I'm still having some pelvic pain but otherwise things are great.

At work today, I was sitting down and my badge hangs around my neck and rests of my belly.  Baby gave it a good kick and made it move a bit and that was cool to see.  DH still hasn't felt any kicks yet but I think we are going to hang out and watch tv tonight and see if he can finally feel some.

It seems so weird to have less than 11 weeks to go.  It seems so far away but coming up so quickly if that make any sense at all.

About weight gain...I immediately gained about 4 pounds in the first month or so but that was moreso a consequence of cutting back on my high intensity workouts and cutting out 'diet' drinks.  After that things slowed down and now I'm up about 19 pounds at 29 weeks.  Hoping to keep it between 25 and 30 pounds.

  • Obviously our bad is the hospital stay, but we have tons of good.

    Good-

Myles is 30.5 inches and about 23lbs.  He sits up on his own really well, and has just started pulling to standing which is awesome! Our nanny thinks he'll stand and walk before he crawls. We've tried everything to get him to start crawling, he just doesn't seem to understand how to make it all work together.

He's such a sweet natured little man. He's always happy, giggling, and laughing. His personality is so much fun. He loves to dance and sing. Also he's been saying mama a lot more. Though I know it's not directed at me yet. It's still fun to hear it, He's such a talker.

ETA: We also got notice that Myles' new birth certificate with our names is ready!

Sorry, I really needed to talk a lot about good things because this weekend was so scary.

  • Noah had his 6 month appt on Monday (though he's 6.5 months) and the doctor said he's perfect and she has no concerns. He's 28 inches and 22 lbs.

He's crawling backwards and sideways but not forward. He sits really well now too. He just learned to wave and it's super cute! He also says "bubba" and "mama" now!

    Here's a picture I took today:

  • Jackson is thankfully a super cute baby, or I'd be selling him on ebay by now. I'm so tired all the time, and he thinks 4am is a proper time to start his day. We got one week of good sleep, and now we're back in sleep hell. I'm just not sure what to do about it anymore. I actually got sick this morning from lack of sleep last night. He does nap well, but he's at daycare for those, so it's no good to me whether he naps or not during the week. That's our bad news I suppose.

The good: We have 3 teeth now, both on the bottom. I'm so glad they popped through finally, because last weekend was unbearable with the fussiness. I can't wait for them to really show and we'll have a cute baby teeth grin. I'm terrified of the first time he bites his lip or something when he fumbles over himself. Blood on my baby will not be good.

He's obsessed with the dogs, even more now that he can reach out and pet them. They are awesome with Jackson, so it's funny to watch. I'm trying to teach him to just pet the puppies and not try to rip their faces off.

He's sitting unassisted well enough that I can just put a few pillows around in case he stumbles, but he can be left playing while I run around the house to do a few things. He's got the all 4's thing down to start crawling, but he still hasn't figured out how to go anywhere. I think we'll have a walker before crawling, too, but who knows. The kids at daycare are great, because they teach him all these new things.

and a PIP of my ferocious biter...or not, because tinypic is being super slow tonight. i just posted a ton of new ones one facebook, though. sorry
