I'm pretty proud of myself right now! DH has been gone all week and I've managed to keep the house looking somewhat presentable, ate healthy dinners all week, packed breakfasts & lunches for work, did all the laundry (both clothes & diapers), remembered to feed both pets (and walked the dog), made it to work within a reasonable time, kept the baby alive and decently happy given her recent crankiness... and lost 2 lbs!
The other times that he's traveled since I've been back at work, I've kind of starved since I didn't have food in the house or energy to make anything... and the house has looked like a bomb went off! It actually looks decently ok-- enough to let my mother come over tonight without feeling embarrassed.
I just needed to share because DH won't get it!
Re: woot!
Good for you!
YAY! Good job!
Whenever my husband goes on the road, he knows that the house is an absolute disaster until hours before he comes home. I eat crap and my sleep habits are totally screwed. But the dog is still alive and I still have a job. Needless to say, I'm trying to change my habits so I can survive having a baby around to take care of by myself when he's on the road.
Good for you!
When H is working nights, the best dinner I can usually muster is a bowl of cheerios.
Thanks! I made dinner on Monday night and ate it the rest of the week... so that made it easy. And A.Bart I would totally eat cereal for dinner if I weren't off dairy for BFing. All my easy dinners go out the window with that elimination.
Sounds like you have a really good handle on this mommy thing
DH worked this week, I was proud that I did laundry and dishes
