Ask me anything?

I'm bored, and I don't think I've given a lot of my background.

The day I left was just my beginning.

lol, it took me a pathetically long time to come up with those three words!

I've been with xh since I was 16, married when I was 22.  I was feeling like we were growing apart, which sucked but I was dealing with it.  But things started getting really bad last May- he started drinking a lot, was verbally abusive, punching holes in the walls, etc.  It just kept happening more and more often.  I thought about leaving a lot, but felt guilty because I had made a commitment to him.  And it didn't suck all the time, we still had fun together.  But things came to a head in November and I left.

We have to be separated for a year before I can file.  I'm staying with my parents now, hoping that xh moves out of the house, since I'm paying the mortgage, so I can move back in.

ETA- I'm 29 now.  We don't have kids.

The day I left was just my beginning.
  • What are you most looking forward to with dating?  Do you have a bucket list?  (I have a dating bucket list of the types of men I want to date to make sure I don't keep dating the same wrong type of man).

Hmm, I don't, but that's an interesting idea!

I'm looking forward to the butterflies in the stomach feeling.

Aww this. I was excited to feel that again. STBXH killed all feelings of hope and love so when I felt it again with D it was AMAZING.

    Any way the wind blows...
  • What do you look for in a "man"?

What do you do for work?

Definitely funny.  I like bigger guys- taller and not skinny.  I can't see myself being into a guy that takes more time to get ready than I do.

    I'm an HR/admin manager for a gov't agency.
