when you wear makeup, is eye shadow a part of the normal routine? [Poll]

maybe i just don't know how to do subtle eyeshadow.. but i feel like a hoar with it on for every day use.. plus, my eyes are def the focal point so is that why? i also never wear lipstick but that's a whole other issue.

You have absolutely gorgeous eyes. I don't think you would even need eyeshadow! It was one of the first things I noticed about you when I met you at a GTG, lol! Jealous!

aw, that is sweet. i don't normally wear eyeshadow unless mac does it for me. lol.

while eyeshadow isn't a *requirement*, maybe you can go to a makeup counter and have them show you how to wear it more subtly. i wear dark eyeshadow everyday. i wouldn't know how to do it "subtle". it's always dark purple(more dark than purple). that's my "everyday" makeup. i use black/dark-gray for my "let's try a little harder" makeup.

I wear it 99% of the time if I am wearing makeup. It just depends how dark I go for different occasions. I tend to use nuetrals. If it's an evening thing it focuses more on the darker shades.

I almost always do neutrals, pinks, or (very light) golds, because those colors go best around blue eyes according to some make-up person who did my make-up a while back. I've done blues / purples / etc., but they're always a little intense for me with my skin tone. I prefer to make it look like I'm not really wearing make-up at all, if possible. Also always do mascara, but only do eye-liner if I want something more dramatic.

I seriously suck at putting on eye shadow so I don't even try. I feel like I come out looking either like a clown or like a six year old who got into mommy's makeup.

Um, I could TOTALLY make this happen. My cousin is a fabulous make-up artist! She's been slowly teaching me

Sarack - if you want to wear subtle eyeshadow, the key is to go more neutral shaded then you just want to go with a soft color and a slightly darker version of it. Urban Decay Naked 2 palette is awesome for that.

Brown-toned pinks look good as well and can make your eyes look brighter.

Yup, definitely all of this. I don't wear makeup often, though.

If I'm not doing neutrals, I'm likely doing soft greys or purples. Because I have blue/green eyes and yellow-toned skin, I can't do a lot of pinks or golds and have it look decent.

yeah, i think i need some one to show me.. because all of the stuff i've tried doesn't look how i imagine it. maybe i'll go to mac. i like them. i've never been to sephora in search for myself.

The bobbi brown folks are also really good at showing you how. Brushes are also key.

I have both of the Naked palettes and it's all I use for eyeshadow. Plus, you can youtube videos of people that can actually do their own makeup using these palettes so i've watched a lot. I definitely wouldn't call myself good at it, but it's fun to play around with.

gtk. i can buy this at ulta right? i think i've seen urban decay there. i don't wanna go to the mall.. maybe those girls can help me? lol. or maybe i'll buy it and you girls can do my makeup! win for me!

I always wear eyeshadow if I wear makeup (almost never liner though). However, it is very subtle. Always a creamy color to highlight (right under arch and inside corner of eye), and then light orange/gold or light brown. Orange/gold really brings out blue eyes.
