What do you eat for breakfast?

I'm a breakfast rut.  This no dairy things is seriously limiting me.  I'm used to breakfast sandwiches, cereal, even breakfast burritos.  Which just don't sound appealing anymore without the cheese.

Help a girl get her creative juices flowing - what do you eat for breakfast?

ps - I need breakfast.  If you just eat a granola bar or skip breakfast, you need not apply.

Re: What do you eat for breakfast?

  • What about Oatmeal? I found a recipe in a TOH magazine for Banana and Brown sugar oatmeal. It looked really easy and that would probably be really filling! I also love plain quick oats with bananas in it and a piece of Cinnamon Toast on the side.
  • I'm not much help. I eat a bowl of cereal, or oatmeal. I'm cutting back on dairy too, for TTC reasons, but I still have milk in my cereal.

Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
  • My breakfasts vary, depending on how I feel.  Sometimes its a ham, egg, and cheese on an english muffin from DD, other times it's just a yogurt.  occasionally, it's nothing at all, and that never does anyone any good.

  • And I know you already mentioned breakfast sandwiches, but here's one I used when I was doing WW. I don't know if you are wanting something like this, but it was really good and filling and easy!

Bagel Thins, 1 piece of Canadian bacon, scrambled egg (sometimes I would just use two egg whites because they are zero points) and a piece cheese, which you could leave off since you are avoiding dairy. This was only like 4 points on the old system and was really good!

  • On days that I don't go to Sonic or McDonalds....(I know I KNOW!)

This morning I had two Eggo nutri-grain waffles with peanut butter and strawberries on top. I usually do bananas but we didn't have any. To drink I had a glass of this:

Bolthouse Farms "Green Goodness" smoothie, which looks disgusting (like pureed spinach or something) but tastes delicious.

I also like this one from them:

Mocha Cappuccino protein drink. Tastes like one of those Sbux Frappucinos in the glass bottles, but has a lot more healthy benefits.

They have several other flavors, those are just the ones I like.

Anyway, other things I eat for breakfast are:

    scrambled eggs with toast

cheerios with whatever fruit we have sliced up in them (bananas or berries)

toast with pb and cinnamon sugar

  • I usually eat cereal, but Kirk eats 2 of the Special K bars and he really seems to enjoy them.
    White Knot
Stand up for something you believe in. White Knot
  • I usually do Waffles and fruit. I make home made waffles in a huge batch and freeze them. Then just throw them in the toaster in the morning

  • I usually do cereal with berries, coffee, and a hard boiled egg or egg white. You could use soy or almond milk. I also sometimes do english muffin w/ pb and banana. Every now and then i do frozen waffles--not sure if theyate dairy free.

  • I have Kashi waffles a lot with fruit.  I also like oatmeal, or toast with peanut butter.  I do make eggs on occasion, the other day I made a scrambled egg, salsa and avocado breakfast burrito, and it was amazing(and dairy free like you are).
  • Another Nutrigrain eggo waffle girl here.  Usually with some butter and cinammon on top.  Also, a whole wheat english muffin with Laughing Cow Swiss cheese, tomatos or green pepper.

  • Oatmeal, yogurt, and english muffins are my go-tos. I've also started making wraps with peanut butter, bananas, and strawberries. Really yummy.
  • I will usually do cereal (dry, in a mug, in the car if I'm running late) with unsweetened almond milk, Nutrigrain Waffles, oatmeal, or EggBeaters.

When I buy EggBeaters (I just can't get on board with egg whites Tongue Tied) I either buy the plain ones and add cheese, a little meat and little salsa or spinach or I buy the Southwestern ones which I think are really tasty plain with a side of turkey sausage or turkey bacon.

If EggBeaters are too expensive I'll buy eggs and hard boil them. In the morning I peel two, take out the yolk (there's always just enough left for some flavor) and put in a little bit of salsa. Delicious, nutritious and filling.
