D.C. Area Nesties
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
Moms: How did you start your search for a daycare?
I know wait lists are ridiculous around here, so I want to start looking for daycare options soon. I'm not even sure where to start apart from Web searches (which are turning up some sketchy results!).
Any suggestions on where/how to start looking? Are there any good resources for NOVA that I haven't found yet?
Or if anyone has recommendations of daycares in Arlington, I'm open to suggestions.
Re: Moms: How did you start your search for a daycare?
Congratulations!
Feel free to pose this question on the DC area Bump board - we are a very helpful bunch: http://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/4236717/ShowForum.aspx
In the meantime, you can take a look at a spreadsheet I made with info about how folks found their daycare. I took a poll in I think 2007 and then again in 2009 - so you'll see the answers. Lot of VA folks answered. you can see that here:

Its kind of overwhelming, isn't it?
I made my own list based on responses I read or asked for on the Bump and DC Urban Moms. We visited 3 or 4 and put down deposits and waited!
